My guitar came in with a very strong smell of lacquer.Updated 5 days ago

We know a strong smell isn't exactly the first impression you were hoping for! 😅 But don't worry—this can happen with some newly finished guitars and does not mean the guitar is unsafe.👌

Our guitars comply with applicable children's safety standards, including requirements for lead levels in paint and varnish.

Why does my guitar smell so strongly?

Some guitars are painted and finished shortly before they are shipped to us, so they may not have had as much time to air out. This can leave a stronger-than-usual lacquer smell when the guitar first arrives.

The good news? The smell should fade with time. 😮‍💨

We recommend leaving the guitar in a well-ventilated area for a few days to allow it to air out naturally. This should help reduce the smell. 👍
